Chichester Harbour Trust

Without the guardianship of The Chichester Harbour Trust working in partnership with, the Harbour Conservancy and other environmental bodies, the threat of development and pollution will grow over the years and destroy Chichester Harbour's unique beauty and vital environmental legacy.

To achieve success the Trust will need resources. We expect that in the longer term it will attract bequests of funds or land from sympathetic owners who realise that, by supporting the Trust through a legacy, they can ensure that the natural beauty and eenvironmental value of the harbour is preserved. However, in the much shorter term, the Conservancy has already identified a number of parcels of land that have landscape or wildlife habitat value and are under threat. We are therefore seeking support now to enable the Trust to act swiftly when opportunities for acquisition arise.
